At the New York State Coalition Against Domestic Violence, we highly value the health, safety, and wellbeing of survivors, advocates, allies, and our state partners. With an abundance of caution regarding the fast changing public health situation with the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have made the decision to postpone NYSCADV's 2020 Annual Membership Meeting, which was scheduled for Monday, March, 23rd in Albany, NY. This decision comes following Governor Cuomo's declaration of a state of emergency for New York and with consideration for public health guidelines, including those issued by the CDC.
In the future, we will be convening a meeting on Family Court Advocacy, Challenges, and Best Practices, which will feature our intended Annual Meeting Keynote Presenter, Joan Meier, Esq. This training will also include a panel presentation of legal advocates from across the state and time for advocacy programs to discuss their challenges and successes. Please keep an eye out for the event announcement, and we hope to see you there.
On March 23, 2020, in lieu of an inperson meeting, we will be hosting a virtual meeting from 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM. This virtual meeting will include the NYSCADV Board Business Meeting and an overview of NYSCADV's 2019 activities and plans for the upcoming year.
This virtual meeting is free of charge, and we hope you can join us.
