Are you interested in learning about working with Amish and Old Order Mennonite populations to prevent and respond to sexual violence? Join NYSCASA for a two-part webinar series on Amish and Old Order Mennonite cultural awareness with child abuse prevention expert Jeanette Harder.

The second session will address more specific information about abuse prevention, communication, and resources for and about Amish and Old Order Mennonite communities—including the new book, For the Sake of a Child: Love, Safety, and Abuse in our Plain Communities by Dr. Jeanette Harder and Allen Hoover. The subtopics covered will include family life for children, teens, and young adults; gender roles in families and church communities; mental health and substance abuse; and risks and strengths in this population related to child abuse and neglect. Dr. Harder will also provide an overview of micro, meso, and macro strategies for serving this population.
