02 Apr Webinar: Digital Storytelling and Advocacy
How Stories Can Support Progressive Change
From 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM
StoryCenter / www.storycenter.org
Since 1993, StoryCenter has collaborated with individuals, grassroots groups, and organizations to centralize first-person stories in social justice efforts. The current political reality demands ever-more creative approaches to advocacy. In this new, one-hour free webinar, we will define “advocacy,” with an eye towards clarifying what kinds of stories are effective at community, institutional, and policy levels. We will then highlight research on the role that sharing and listening to personal stories can play in advocacy and present case study examples of how our partners and we have positioned digital storytelling as a key advocacy strategy.
Note: this is a beginning level webinar, appropriate for organizations considering the use of digital storytelling as an advocacy tool, as well as for individuals who are searching for ways to express their views and concerns.
This webinar is free.
