NYSCASA and The New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault, supported by a grant from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, present a variety of DNA Training opportunities.
The goal of DNA Training Initiative is to improve and increase awareness of DNA and its value to the criminal prosecution of crimes, inclusive of sex crimes, in New York State.
These trainings can optimize the efforts of those who provide initial response to crime scenes, provide EMS responses and who provide acute care services to physically injured and sexual assault victims by training in the recognition, identification, documentation, collection, preservation and submission for examination of potential DNA bearing evidence.
DNA trainings can be specific to campus response resources (safety and security, police, campus law enforcement), local and state law enforcement or we can provide a series of multidisciplinary conferences.
