NYSCADV invites you to join us on Tuesday, April 26th, for the 2022 Virtual Legislative Day of Action. VLDA presents an opportunity for dynamic and engaged domestic violence service providers, survivors and allies from across New York State to virtually join together to convey the needs of DV survivors to New York’s elected officials.
The remainder of the 2022 Legislative Session presents an opportunity to get meaningful legislation approved that enhances supports for survivors of domestic violence in New York State. Please begin scheduling your meetings with legislators now. Click here to find your Senator and here to find your Assemblymember. Once your meetings have been scheduled, please enter the meeting on this tracking chart so we can be sure not to duplicate meeting requests.
We will begin the day with a virtual morning program, from 9:00-10:30 a.m., featuring remarks from Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Senators Liz Krueger and Cordell Cleare and Assemblymembers Helene Weinstein and Linda Rosenthal. We will also hear from a panel of DV survivor advocates who have been working with legislators on a number of policy issues. For the remainder of the day, DV service providers, advocates, survivors and allies will meet with New York’s elected officials to convey the needs of DV survivors.
Registration is needed to attend the morning program.
We will also be holding a prep webinar on Tuesday, April 12, from 2:00-3:30p.m. to review our legislative priorities, messaging, event materials and answer any questions. This event will be recorded for those unable to attend. Click here to register for this event.
