About This Project

A webinar with Strong Oak Lefebvre, founder and Executive Director of the Visioning B.E.A.R. Circle Intertribal Coalition, Inc., and Peer Cohort with the Just Beginnings Collaborative.

This webinar presents an overview of the Walking in Balance with All Our Relations violence prevention curriculum. Featuring twelve modules based on indigenous values and traditions, the curriculum provides historical perspective; promotes fundamental structural change as necessary for peace, justice and harmonious relationships to be the norm; and includes the healing and treatment of those who harm as a key piece of primary prevention.

Walking in Balance with All Our Relations is being evaluated in a culturally appropriate storytelling format that yields both qualitative and quantitative data. Using the Talking Stick Circle Process, this curriculum highlights the intersections of gender equity, structures based on true democracy, economic justice and environmental justice and their role in preventing all forms of interpersonal violence.

Viewers learn ways to incorporate a social/cultural change model into dynamic primary prevention across multicultural communities.
