Pray Lazore (Karatoten) shares a brief version of the Haudenosaunee Creation story, streamlined into a concise webinar format. Pray will discuss the cultural value systems of Haudenosaunee peoples and demonstrate how sexual assault goes against traditional teachings. From studying the creation story, community comes to better understand how we are all a part of sexual violence prevention and we all have a role to play in repairing harms done.

About the Speaker

Pray Lazore (Karatoten) is the Youth Men's Community Outreach Worker at the Seven Dancers Coalition, whose mission is to uplift the families of Indigenous Communities by educating and restoring traditional values with the purpose of strengthening self-confidence and dignity. Seven Dancers Coalition strives for an environment of peace and tranquility to heal all indigenous spirits. Pray is a leader in youth engagement, and also works with men who have experienced violence, trauma and grief, through abuse, incarceration and addictions. 

Logistics

This event will be held via Zoom. Video participation is not required. The session will be recorded and distributed to those who register. Registrants will receive the meeting link by email.
