Join EVAW International for "How Can We Do This Better?": Caring for Transgender Survivors. Detective Toni Dias of Davis, California Police Department, Jennifer Heard, of Alachua County, Florida Victim Services and Rape Crisis Center, Erik Simon of Clinical Practice Resources, and michael munson of FORGE will discuss how we can better advocate and care for transgender patients. Join us, and bring your own questions and suggestions for how we can all do better.
As a result of this webinar, participants will be better able to:
- Identify approaches for gathering information without prying, allowing the survivor/patient to decide what they disclose and what they don’t.
- Navigate potentially difficult topics with transgender survivors (STIs, pregnancy) while maintaining trust.
- Describe ways medical providers, advocates, law enforcement, and allied professionals can provide a collective community response to transgender survivors.
