Healthy Relationships Project

Becoming a trained trainer in PCAVT's Healthy Relationships Project will prepare you to facilitate PCAVT’s comprehensive child sexual abuse prevention programs – Healthy Relationships Project – and to teach others to facilitate the programs with fidelity.

All three of PCAVT’s curricula are developmentally targeted, research-based, and focus on not only victim prevention, but also perpetration prevention, by teaching children the social-emotional skills to recognize, manage, and maintain healthy relationships throughout their lives. You can find more information about the Healthy Relationships Project and PCAVT athttps://www.pcavt.org/healthy-relationships-project.

During this two-day Training of Trainers, trainers from PCAVT will equip participants with the knowledge and skills to bring all aspects of the Care For Kids©We Care Elementary©, and SAFE-T (Sexual Abuse Free Environment for Teens©) programs to their communities.

Trainers will learn to:
  • Implement the program(s) in the childcare setting or in the classroom.
  • Train teachers/childcare workers to use all aspects of the program(s).
  • Facilitate faculty and staff trainings using the PowerPoint presentations.
  • Facilitate parent meetings for childcare centers/schools that will be implementing the program(s).
  • Provide on-going technical assistance and support for those implementing the program(s).

Who can attend?

This training is open to New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NYSCASA) rape crisis program members and to NYSCASA Ally Organization members. There is no registration fee.

If you are interested in attending, but your organization is not a NYSCASA member, you can purchase a NYSCASA Ally Organization annual membership for $100 and attend the training if space is available. Please contact NYSCASA at 518-482-4222 (or spodber@nyscasa.org and cballerano@nyscasa.org) to inquire about space and how to register.

*Please note that space is limited and NYSCASA rape crisis programs will be given priority.*

Unfortunately, this training is not open to individuals unaffiliated with an organization, but we encourage you to contact your local rape crisis program to find out how you can get involved in sexual violence prevention in your area.
