Workshop 1: The Realities of Child Sexual Abuse in Adulthood
May 24, 2022, at 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM EST
Survivors of child sexual abuse may live in silence and fear, uncertain how to seek help or who to tell. This silence often extends well into adulthood as they navigate a life deeply impacted by trauma experienced in childhood. Advocacy programs were created to help survivors of sexual violence heal from trauma but how do we help when the trauma was so long ago?
Join NYSCASA and the Resource Sharing Project for an interactive conversation about the experiences of adult survivors of child sexual abuse. Topics we will be addressing include : What are ways that survivors of child sexual abuse cope in adulthood? How can a survivor's relationship to their body be impacted by child sexual abuse? How can child sexual abuse impact relationship building? Please join us for an interactive session to share and learn more.
This session will be conducted and spoken in English. Please indicate in the registration form if you have specific access needs, so that we can accommodate. These requests are due by May 20, 2022.

Workshop 2: Healing in Adulthood
June 7, 2022, at 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM EST
The role of an advocate is to help survivors of sexual violence navigate healing. To help survivors move from a place of fear, confusion, and stagnation towards a goal they have set for themselves- stronger relationships, a reconnection to culture or spirituality, or maybe a peace within themselves. But what does that look like in practicality? And how, as an advocate, can you help?
Join NYSCASA and the Resource Sharing Project for an interactive conversation about healing in adulthood. Topics we will be addressing include: How do adult survivors of child sexual abuse incorporate their body in the healing process? How are spirituality and culture tied to healing? How does building community help adult survivors of child sexual abuse heal? Please join us for an interactive session to share and learn more.
This session will be conducted and spoken in English. Please indicate in the registration form if you have specific access needs, so that we can accommodate. These requests are due by June 2, 2022.

Workshop 3: Centering Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse in Our Services
June 14, 2022, at 1:00 PM – 2:30 PM EST
Advocacy organizations, created to help survivors find healing, often focus on the needs of survivors who have recently experienced sexual violence. So how then do we focus on the needs of survivors who experienced sexual violence years or decades prior? Where do you start and what needs to change?
Join NYSCASA and the Resource Sharing Project for an interactive conversation about building an organizational culture that centers adult survivors of child sexual abuse. Topics we will be addressing include: What are the traits of strong advocacy? How can we recognize the adult survivors of child sexual abuse who are already in services? How do you provide outreach to adult survivors of child sexual abuse in your community? Please join this live interactive session to share and learn more.
This session will be conducted and spoken in English. Please indicate in the registration form if you have specific access needs, so that we can accommodate. These requests are due by June 9, 2022.
